Jason an Rafa visited our class on Thursday to speak about fire Safety.
Here are some fire Safety things to think about in our homes:
Do you test your alarm each week?
Have you an evacuation plan if there is a fire?
Have you an assembly place outside?
What number do you call in the event of a fire?
Does everyone know the eircode?
(Best piece of information for emergency services)
Are you careful when charging - especially scooters?
(Their battery is known to overheat)
Where in a house do most fires start?
Do you plug everything out at night?
We also learned that the safest place to wait for the fire fighters is in the farthest corner from the door and to keep low. Tubbercurry Fire fighters can all be ready to leave the station 3 minutes after the alarm is raised. They are the quickest in County Sligo!
