Earth Day 2021

Thursday April 22nd was Earth Day 2021. Some of the senior classes watched a very informative lesson from the Natural History Museum. They explained about naturally occurring ice ages and warming of the earth over the last millions of years. We saw fossils of mammals that are now extinct. We heard that remains of a wolf were found in County Sligo – in the caves of Keash. They also explained how global warming at the moment is ‘crisis global warming’. We saw two experiments showing how air with CO2 heats up much more rapidly. Below is a link to the programme.
